Adele has been forced to postpone her Las Vegas residency next month due to illness.

The singer announced the update on social media, apologising to fans for the "inconvenience" and explaining she had not fully recovered after falling ill at the end of the last leg of her Weekends With Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The 35-year-old postponed all five weekends in March but told her followers they would receive the later dates as soon as possible.

"Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency," Adele's post read.

"I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break.

"I hadn't quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I'm sick again, and unfortunately it's all taken a toll on my voice.

"And so on doctors' orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date."

It's the second time the Tottenham-born star has postponed Las Vegas show dates.

The start of the January 2022 residency was abruptly postponed due to COVID and instead ran from November 2022 until March 2023.

Her second leg ended last November, but Adele said that playing to 4,000 people for 34 nights was "not enough" and announced the residency extension.

Aside from the 10 dates she postponed, Adele has five more weekends lined up in Vegas in May and June.

The Grammy winner recently announced she would play in Europe for the first time since 2016, with four nights booked in Germany for August.

In a booking that she called "a bit random", Adele will be performing in Munich's Messe exhibition centre - which boasts a capacity of 80,000.

She last played in the UK in July 2022 at the British Summer Time Festival in Hyde Park.
